Combating telephone identity theft also means preserving the quality and reliability of communications for the entire telecoms ecosystem.
At Orange Wholesale, we’re taking things a step further with the deployment of caller ID masking for certain spoofed calls.
Targeted protection
This device automatically masks the caller’s number when:
- the number displayed is a French mobile,
- the call comes from an international operator identified as a source of inconsistent traffic,
- and it is intended for an Orange mobile customer.
The call will then be displayed “anonymously” on the terminal, limiting the impact on the users concerned.
A concrete response to a growing challenge
Number fraud is on the increase worldwide.
By temporarily hijacking legitimate numbers, they generate unsolicited calls, damage subscribers’ image and blur fraud detection mechanisms.
This new measure is part of our drive to:
- better protect customer users,
- simplify the identification of suspicious calls,
- and reinforce network reliability.
An ongoing partnership approach
Orange Wholesale France will continue to work with its operator partners, in France and abroad, to develop its prevention and protection systems.
