Orange’s Core Wave service consists of providing a point-to-point 1Gb to 100Gb backbone link to interconnect an Operator’s various sites located in given geographical areas (service coverage zones).
The transport network used for the Service is Orange’s OTN/WDM network.
Core Wave is therefore understood to be a single-service point-to-point transport link using native OTN transport.
The Core Wave service is based on the principle of a point-to-point link, and is technically characterized by :
- a connection to the Orange network for each end site, with or without EAS,
- a transmission capacity between these end points, at a given data rate, for a given service interface, established between 2 sites each equipped with a connection.

- a standard zone, enabling the production of 1GbE and 10GbE services, unprotected, without a feasibility study, within a contractual 56-day period, which will evolve and expand as Orange installs new equipment in its OTN network,
- a non-standard zone, for which all Core Wave services are available subject to a feasibility study.
